Reflections: This is my final project. It's based on my roommate's trip to Salem, the famous city of witches, on Halloween. Massachusetts welcomes many international students every year, and going to Salem on Halloween is a common event for international students to experience local culture.
In this project, I presented a complete Interactive Fiction. From the setting of the world view, the characters to the storyline itself, I have done a detailed consideration. The story's logic is what I am concerned about most, so I spent a lot of time on the story map. The first part of the story, it's more about describing the trip experience and relationship development of the two protagonists. The second half is about the two exploring what happened to the ghost and how to deal with it.
Also, in the early days, I designed a system to collect CG photos as gameplay, but then I removed this system and focused on developing the storyline. I made this cut for two reasons. First, developing narratives has a high priority in this course, while designing a interactive system has a medium priority. So I chosed to focus on the main storyline and character relationships. Second, CG photos require me to put a lot of effort into illustrating production, but I can only juggle one part in the available time. So, I made an other plan of having fewer images to balance the workload.
If I could develop this story, I will describe more worldview settings that are more worthy of research in the text to create a more sense of reality.

Reflections: To explore the worldview, I added some apocalyptic settings. For example, many pet species are extinct, only the turtle is a more common pet species. Even when the apocalypse is over, characters need pets to bring them spiritual solace.
Players can also unlock additional endings and achievements based on your friendship with Miranda. In the final version, players can view their achievements at any end.
If time allows, I would be excited to design wasteland punk-style visual work for this project, such as characters, background views, and achievement badges.
Tool: Twine2
Reflections: It is my first Twine project. While developing this project, I explored Twine's capabilities. I tried to write the story with if, else, and other variables. And use these statements to show the different endings and the relationship between the player and his partner.

Reflections: When I writing this story, I designed the character relationship first. But for the first part, it's all developed around a puzzle. Even if the player makes the wrong choice, they will not go to a dead ending. Players are given different prompts and loop back to previous episodes until decryption is complete. It is just the first chapter of a full story. In the upcoming chapter, players will investigate the reasons for the mysterious, and decide the fate of the characters through their choices.
Tool: Inky
Reflections: It is my first Inky story and my first project this semester. To explore character relationships and endings, I set up multiple nodes for players to show their attitudes. The player's attitude will also affect the next relationship between the player and the partner.

Reflections: This project is to write something about our own experiences and makes me look inside myself a lot. In a way, it pains me. Sometimes, I will see the weakness in my heart. But at the same time, I also thought about what touched me and what I longed for. Anyway, this kind of writing based on my own experience has greatly inspired me.
